No, we don't all like slapping people. This just lets Jim indulge his private fantasies.

I'm not like that at all. I prefer to kick them in the shins.

I can barely run, let alone do it for an hour.

Paintball is loads more fun. More tactical and there's no arguing over who got hit and where they were hit.

@ Steve, you could be that one guy in every sport that lags behind the rest of the team and scores all the points when the other team is caught off guard.

Paintball lacks the realism of of using guns modeled after real ones personally have one modled after the desert eagle .50 and one modeled after the AK47. besides we play on faith that we are all being honest that we were hit and you would be amazed how many are honest about it. Mind you the group I am in has a punishment if we find one lied well it gets... painful.

You are thinking of the competition guns. The competition guns look like crap. Mine looks like the Beretta Cx4. I have a Tippmann Carver One.

Tippmann Alpha Black and certain models of the A5 are modeled after M4's. There is the Tacamo Type 68 which is an AK-47. There are tons more out there.

You can buy kits for various paintball guns that model them after real guns too. I've seen a kit for my gun that would turn it into an MG42!

It looks like you're going for the Call of Duty Realism of being a Tier 1 Special Forces operator equipped with an AK-47 and Desert Eagle (or Deagle as the CoD kids like to call it)

I prefer paintball again because of accuracy. Airsoft BB's get carried by the wind at about 20 yards and are pretty inaccurate after that in my experience. Airsoft is a good CQB sport but paintball can be played with engagements at 50 yards or more on a large tract of land. Airsoft may be more realistic in the gear you take depending on how hardcore you are....but Woodsball Paintball is more realistic in every other area.

I have a few others but some are facing old worn out gearboxes ( my M4 and M16 my SR22 is my pride and joy but we rarely use snipers) my AK is only working because it was the one that rarely gets used so probably for the next month or so I am stuck with my AK until i get the money for a gearbox for my M4 or M16.

Also it depends on how junky and cheap your airsoft gun is. Higher end ones like My SR22 I can shoot accurately up to 250 yards after that I need to start doing the windage calculations. The AK and M4s are a different story i can get 150 yards out of them and at 100 face issues with wind. my DE is my CQC sweetie and has a full auto mode for the intimidation and group confrontation.

You also have to realize YOU CAN'T use the in store BBs which are complete garbage and will break in high performance guns. Need to use ones like GOLDENBALL. Also gun maintenance is a must need to make sure your gun is properly oiled (i am sure paintball is like that too) it is even recommended to put a coat of oil on the first few BBs in the mag to oil the barrel up.

EDIT: also hate CoD prefer battlefield

Okay. This is the level of hardcore where you can't argue about it anymore. When you get down to stuff like this, Paintball and Airsoft are too similar to argue. I've got a 180$ Aftermath M4 CQB that will give me ~40 yards out of the crappy .12 gr BB's in the store. I think what it boils down to is just personal preference. I've played good woodsball Paintball games but I don't really have anybody to play Airsoft with. Hell, I haven't played Paintball in 2 years. I really want to get back into it. I just don't have anybody to play with. I was a beast back when me and my friends would play. I set up ambushes along trails and all.... Apparently they didn't know the meaning of the word "flank."

There was one time where they decided to cross an open field....well I had set up an ambush with my teammate. We waited until they were about halfway across the open ground and we just shredded them to pieces.

Funny thing is, they always made fun of me for wearing camo and talking tactics. I was the "War Nerd."

I also painted your ass orange!

Got time for one more story on how I kicked their butts.

They had set up in a small metal shack at one end of another field. The field is in a valley with a mountain on one side and a creekbed running alongside the field opposite the mountain. I sent my teammate down the creekbed as I climbed the mountain to get behind the shack. Of course, the enemy was yelling every expletive/insult/etc they could think of to get us mad and "get out in the open and take it like a man." Well, my teammate risked a look over the creekbed. (He's 100 yards from me) He immediately starts to open fire. By this time, I just get up and run on the side of this hill to get a field of fire on the back of the shack where the door is. When I got there, I had been detected and my teammate had taken a headshot with a pink paintball. I ended up running out of ammo in the following stalemate. I held my own against two guys who really don't know crap about any kind of tactic. I eventually took one in the thigh and one right down the barrel of my gun.

By that time, I had resorted to shooting acorns from my gun... But they didn't know that and they kept behind cover. Even when I ran out of those, they were fooled by me just shooting air at them. If I didn't have adrenaline pumping I would've been rolling around laughing.

HEHE

Some of my best airsoft stories go about the same way and usually involve noobs. We do more polsim (police simulation) than milsim anyways because we are all in the city, but it goes the same way bad guys get the AKs good guys get the M4s and M16s. The local police let us rent their little SWAT shack and other training buildings for a small fee of course but since we meet about once a month sometimes twice its no biggie just about 5 dollars for the each of us and we are a group of 100 +/- 15.

anyways yeah alot of it is personal preference and I have just found that it is easier with airsoft in an urban environment than paintball.
My assualt rifles cost about $250-275 each and have about $400+ each of upgrades and soon to have about 150 in maintenance (except my AK that one was customized from the get-go and was $300 preowned but was in like new condition). My "deagle" as you put it was about 150 and its CO2 gas blow-back. My SR22 was free from a giveaway and was heavily modded and had accessories for the giveaway (would have sold for $1000 if it was not for free)
