Don't know why you'd need to convert .dds to .jpg and back, but I've always used GIMP with the DDS plugin if I need to work with .dds.

just use paint.NET it lets you edit and save dds files without needing to convert them, its way easier and less likely to have issues forgetting something

Look around for a program called DDS Converter 2. I used it with other .dds files for other sims. Works good.

![]() I have made 5 flags, to include Submarine Battle Flags, and I am trying to find were the files are placed so as not to change the name of the flag to the one in the command file. [Equipment 19] NodeName=I08 LinkName=SubFlag_US StartDate=19410101 EndDate=19600631 ;[Equipment 19] ;NodeName=I08 ;LinkName=SubFlag_US_01 ;StartDate=19410101 ;EndDate=19600631 ;[Equipment 19] ;NodeName=I08 ;LinkName=SubFlag_Pirate ;StartDate=19410101 ;EndDate=19600631 Need to find these files, instead of changing the name SubFlag_US_01 to SubFlag_USto see the flag in the game.

Ok.
![]() The link name calls a node in the .dat files that hold the flags stuff. The actual dds file can be in that dat or in the textures folder. I'll have to check the files to give you a better answer and those are on a different system right now. I run up to 7 servers here at home and storms have the whole system shut down! I'll get back with a detailed answer ASAP. ![]() |

Sub_flag.dat in the Library folder.
The images are placed in it. You can use S3D to create new nodes just like what is in it now. Although you really don't need to do it the same way if you want to save some file size. What I mean is, only some parts are needed if done in a way that many don't realize can be done. |
