I just spent several minutes switching back and forth, and I can't see any difference between the two except the price. If you don't have Amazon Prime I'd go for a used copy in Very Good shape.

Good morning Sailor Steve (not sure what time it is where you are )

It was 1.30am when I put on my last post; it's now 8.00am uk time so I fell asleep but I'm now awake with the dawn chorus (well sea gulls )

Anyway I'll purchase the less in price version. I'll order it now. Something to watch to fill my time whilst travelling with work.

Good hunting guys

Im not a techy at all but I believe you will not get the full benefit of picture quality from blu-ray unless you are viewing it on a full HD tv.

That is true. I do have a HD TV and Blu Ray DVD player but I'll be watching the series on a portable player

I'm seven hours behind you, so if it's 08:00 where you are it's 01:00 in my town, which is Salt Lake City, in the Wasatch Mountans of Utah, USA.

Ninja Turtle, you will enjoy the full four and half hour version....you will get to know the characters better.

Ah...time zones...My wife and I lived in Dunoon, Scotland for three years. My mother in law had a bit of a problem with the time difference between the US and Scotland. For the first few months she would wake us up at one in the morning to "chat". Really miss bombing around the single lane back roads in the highlands with our beat up old Mini Cooper

The Uncut version is best IMHO. I believe it's 4½ hours or something
like that.

Sure: With that length it is not exactly 'action-packed'...
If you are looking for more action and less athmosphere -
then the theatrical version is of course 'better'.

But I believe that most SUBSIM'ers will appreciate the
uncut version - because they know the typical 'boredom'
interrupted by hectic action all too well.

Of course - without time-compression the simulation
would be too tedious - but I myself do not use
it as much as in the beginning.

Also you get to know the characters much better.

I also have three versions - bluray, director's cut superbit and the full length version. I have to say I like the full length version, but don't often have time to watch it! In that case, my go-to choice is now usually the bluray.

I've had the directors cut version for several years. The full length version should arrive today! I'm looking forward to watching it.

Someone has the Das Boot movie on youtube believe it or not, the full length no less, not a bunch of cut edits to build a full length. I mean the whole movie start to end. I have it on my faveriots. When I up to it, I watch it as long it is up there until someone cries about it and has the user pull the video.. In the mean time that is were I watch it....

If someone "cries about it and has the user pull the video", it will be because it was uploaded illegally. We don't control what YouTube does, or worry if you talk about it, but saying someone pointing out a crime is "crying about it" is a bit of a stretch. If you truly love the movie you will buy a copy.

Understood, but in order to upload anything it can ONLY be 9 minutes long. I know this for a fact, I have a account myself.

If the user has a full length feature, then he paid money, to have that ability via youtube, then the upload is not illeagle, because youtube blocks that or removes that. Lawyers are always scrolling looking for illeagle actions of copy rights.

What I mean by "CRYING" Is loddging a complaint against it because to the complaintif they may feel it is making heros of Nazi people. You are fooling yourself if you do not think that there are people who do not turn up a blind eye to facts and change them as they see fit for their own reasons...

I am NOT breaking any laws, and if you must know Steve...

I had a string of bad tidings brought down on me since 2008 Steve, lost my job, lost my family, lost my home. Been struggling it since, got a job in 2009. But manegemnt was looking for a reason to fire anyone, so I was lied against and fired for something I did not do. And I am told the company can do what they want. So I can do nothing.

Now in Nov 2011, I suffer a bad back injury from a heavy chick I was dating. She had to wrap her self around me during the night. No money to go to the doctor to get it fix or looked at. In 2012 I have fallen ill during the summer. A lump was disscovered in my left lung, it may be a tumor, or it maybe cancer, one thing is for sure, it is killing me now..

I have applied for Dissability because I have worked since 1986 (Senior year in HS), So I put my money in. But under the current admin, dosen't look like it may not happen.

So I get to loose everything including my life, and believe me, I do not fear dying. I am a ex-veteran Security officer with advance training. I worked at the Chicago Projects in the early 90's before they were closed down. I have seen the berrel of a gun in my face, and it makes me MAD!. So there is no fear, that will get you killed in a place like that to be sure of...

So NOW, I play with what I have left, and wounder were my kids are and how they doing. Because when the lod lady left in 2008 she took the kids too. Crying about it is pointless, it will never change things, to bad, it is what it is.

So I have to stay with family, proable die first before I do get the help I need. Oh well moving on...So there for Mr.Steve I do not have all the money in the world to chase down movies I want, and my own place to watch it in peace. Just when playing the Silent Hunter game with the voices in German I get little complaints about WW 2 and Hitlers army. As if I am promoting this. And we are German decendents!
My screen name is a Edited version of my real last name and pronounce the same.

But Mr.Steve, You know what, in the end it dosen't matter, SO YEAH I will watch the movie on youtube as I see fit. I am breaking NO LAWS, and I am thankfull that SOMEONE is willing to make it possable for someone as unfortain as I to be able to watch it. IS that good enough reason Mr.Steve? Because it is the truth.

I am sorry I am not fitting in too well on the Subsim fourms, seem any post I lodge someone has to get into it with me for what? nothing. I am thinking of resigning.

AND I WILL still watch that movie....

I need to go on patrol...........................
