Quick question about this. When you turn off manual targeting in the realism setting, what do you to as far as aiming? Do you just point to a ship and fire and don't worry about the ships speed or anything? I guess I need to know what exactly automatic targeting does for you?

Two different ways.
Have it so when ever you point the scope or UZO at a target it automatically gives you identification, range. This way is poor and really for the blind man. Turn that way off and have it so you have to use the WO tabs. Click on the WO Icon and a small menu will pop up. 1 identifiy target, 2 Range to target (solution), 3 fire torpedo. I use this way when i can't be bothered setting up manu targetting. But if you want edge of your seat gameplay use manual targetting, always beats auto. |

I'm a complete noob. So when you say things like "turn that way off", or "WO", I am already lost. I know how to turn off manual targeting. That's about it. I'll try and read through the wiki and see what I can find.

WO = Weapon Officer
Turn that way off - i mean disable the autotargetting and check no weapon officer assitance. [so its enabled] Example in the settings: ManualTargetingSystem=true NoWeaponOfficerAssist=false |
