May deck gun diappeared after may Tambor's aft bridge fairwater being removed.
Can someone help me? It is now mid 1944 in my career and my boat still is Tambor Class. When can I get Balao? ![]() I used TMO2.5+RSRDC502+RUIM1.0 Thanks! |

Welcome to Subsim Mark! I can't really say why your deckgun disappeared when you received the conning tower upgrade modification, but I can tell you that your receiving a new boat depends on your performance. As a matter of fact, your ability to get conning tower modifications also depends on performance, despite what stage of the war it is. I disagree with this totally, since this is an arcadish concept. Modifications, once deemed advantageous, were employed ASAP.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm also playing in a Tambor in late 44', and I still have the early war conning tower mod. At this stage, I should have the late war style. Although I play RFB, my advice is to be sure you complete the objectives assigned to you, and rack up as much tonnage as you can. Then you should be offered a newer command. |

It has to do with the fact that early Tambor modification uses aft deck gun exclusively.Tmo manual states:
QUOTE: ------------------------------------------------------------------ Due to a hardcoded bug in the SH4 game engine, it is not possible to switch locations of the deck gun once a game has been saved to file. Trying to move the deck gun from fore to aft, or vice versa will result in the crew member slots disappearing. In order to circumvent this bug and prevent it to happening during play, the deck guns have been “fixed” to a location. By default, TMO defaults to mounting deck guns forward of the conning tower, as this is the most popular placement. The exception to this are the Tambor, and Gar, which ONLY have an aft mount due to the larger 5”/51 caliber deck gun they can equip. A bow mount for these two class is not available. If you prefer your deck gun mounted aft of the conning tower, enable the “TMO_Aft_deckguns” alternate mod found in the documentation directory. EXTRA SPECIAL NOTE: You must make your deck gun selection before you start your career game. If you prefer a bow mount, you need not do anything except start your game. If you prefer a stern mount, you must enable the alternate mod discussed above. Once you make this selection, you cannot change without causing the “deck gun crew bug” to appear, and you will not have crew slots for your deck gun crew. So as far as the game is concerned, make your gun mount selection, and forever hold your peace! END QUOTE ------------------------------------------------------------------ What has happened to you, happened to me too,so that is how i know ![]() Just enable "TMO_Aft_deckguns" optional mod(located in the Documentation folder of the main mod TMO2.5).Copy "TMO_Aft_deckguns" to the mods folder a than enable it with Jgsme(I'm sure u know this, but just to be safe).Make sure that it is the last mod enabled. That would be the end of your deck gun problems, unless some destroyer doesn't blow it to bits. ![]() |
