Several Questions

This might be a stupid question, but...

I've seen all these cool mods for SH4, and I'm trying to figure out if my version can handle them. I have the stock game without the German add-on (I was an idiot and didn't buy the add-on pack), and when I checked the 'Read Me' file, it only lists Mod 1.3 as the newest version. Does that mean I'm running Version 1.3, or is there another way to figure this out?

Now, if I'm running Version 1.3, can I at least run the Stock Medal mod? If so, how do I install it? It doesn't include any install instructions.

You are going to need to update to V1.4 for at least SOME of the mods. Almost all of the cool mods are for V1.5 which is the SH4+U-boat Missions.

You need to get the UBM Expansion for TMO, RFB, RSRDC, OM, and I don't know about some of the others. Most of the little mods I would assume are for 1.5 unless they say otherwise. Some of that stuff is included in the different Supermods.

Sounds like you have a Steam download and as far as I know that is 1.3.
You can download the V1.4 patch from the UBI site.

Gatta buy the U Boat Missions to get V1.5.

If you like the game the extra cost of the U Boat missions is worth it.

It's not a download copy...bought it off Amazon.com. But when I went to the UBI site, it said "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error...the website cannot display the page". Anyone know of another place I could snag this update?

As for hunting in the stock game, I've been pretty lucky, even with my strategy of avoiding convoys ninety-five percent of the time and attacking lone merchants or those sailing in pairs. Even gotten lucky and attacked a couple task forces this career (nabbed an Agano and a Mogami on two separate occasions), and will also probably attack some ports directly (Balikpapan's been a regular pit stop for me when I get assigned to that region). I usually end up bringing home about 40,000-55.000 tons a patrol, particularly if I get really lucky and manage to intercept one of those pairs of the Large Old Passenger Carrier and the Huge European Liner...those add to one's tally quite nicely.

trust us when we say invest in the expansion pkg, its a great game changer playing this sim with the super MOD's
