Thank-you for the time and effort of sharing the video , unfortunately the layout of SHO as is , does not appeal to me , it has a juvenile aspect to it .
Unfortunately these online games seem to be the new standard in the gaming industry and the traditional DVD format has gone with the wind .
Once again Thank-you for the info it is greatly appreciated .
Prost!

Yeah I'd have to agree on the "not appealing" part. The best part about SH3 is the immersion like someone above mentioned. If I can't walk around the boat, stand watch, or be bored rotating watch shifts.... As weird as it sounds I like going through all the BS to get to the fun in SH3. You get a little attached to your crew in SH3 and actually care if they go under.

On the browser side of your post I think browser games have something to offer but they haven't been executed correctly. I love what World of Tanks did. Love what they are planning. Heroes and Generals is a decent idea but the game needs 1000%x more maps(Which would make it 33 maps total :/ )

I wouldn't worry. F2P is a fad sprung from every exec in the game industry growing seeing nothing but huge dollar signs after watching the massive success of Farmville. Just like they all went and tried making their own Call of Duty killers after Modern Warfare made a billion dollars which so far have all failed to match even a fraction of the sales. Or how everybody jumped on the MMO subscription bandwagon a few years ago after the massive success of WoW which predictably ended with an oversaturated MMO market.

That is a good point. I don't know what the gaming world will be like in 10 years, but I expect it will be different than it is now.

I think SHO is a great idea for those beginners before they jump into a hardcore silent hunter series.

Basically, SHO is a waterdown of SH5. It could be a double blade sword for some of us.

I believe we can call for SH6 someday in the future.

Many of the players in the current beta have never played a Silent Hunter game before.

It could be a reason for that. I am giving them a benefit of doubt and thinking outside of the box.

LAME!!!!

Guys.. this is NOT FOR US!!!

This is designed for the typical time wasters that usually play "farm" or whatever its called on facebook.

Maybe those people want a little extra, online game web based.

UBI had the code and it was probably easy to do.

This game is not for any of us that want immersion and a simulator

Obviously this will be extremly simple to play for most people on this forum who are used to the complexity of SH 3, 4, or 5. But we should give it a chance as some of the many gamers who have never played a subsim before might, just might, evolve from playing this and join us here in playing the more involved sims in the SH world.

Once this is released I'm pretty sure I will give it a go. If I don't like it then fair enough. I agree with the above quotes that a game like this could entice more youngsters into the genre we all love. That can't be a bad thing.
