VAA's Fiat G.50 Freccia. An important plane at the beginning of the war - it was fast and manoeuvrable and took part across the Italian theatres of operations as well as the Battle of Britain. In the longer term it proved to be undergunned and, ultimately, underpowered as the war progressed:

I'm encountering some difficulties with both Photobucket and Mediafire, so bear with me!

Hi WB,

Do you have a SCR file of all your .mis files in one? I mean all combined into one .mis file. So I don't have to go through each download?

Thanks.

Unfortunately not. Each system has a point at which it will CTD, and as everyone has a different personal installation of SH3 Mod Soup there may be conflicts between ships and aircraft outside my .mis files.

I recommend installing them one at a time, ensuring you see them in the Museum and then in the campaign before installing the next one. That way if you have a conflict you can see immediately what the conflict is rather than installing all 78 at the same time and getting frustrated with CTDs.

Default Hey WB.

Do you think the dsd9 cfg's might cause a problem with adding the .mis files in the mission editor? I've noticed that when a high rez fix is installed then the mission file doesnt display right in the editor. what do you think?

Hi WB,

You are aware of the remap ID tool in S3D?
http://s3d.skwas.com/manual/remap/

Check it out. MOst issues are fixed by remapping ids because of conflicts.

You need to dis-able the high res fix before opening the mis editor.
This is a well know problem.

Yes the problem is solved, and with a simple .bat file in an elegant way

ren d3d9.dll _d3d9.dll
Sh3MissionEditor
ren _d3d9.dll d3d9.dll

with running this script you need not to rename it yourself (others found out themselves I'm sure). Only a rectangular map in the left corner appeared in the main window. I can recall the problem you mension where the 'accept' and 'cancel' button of the properties window were too low to be clicked. This doesn't happen anymore with a larger resolution screen, so I don't seem to need the patched editor. But thanks.

This is one for Kaleuns in the Pacific - the Kawanishi H6K Mavis.

A long-range flying boat, it initially served in the front line before being replaced by faster, less vulnerable models. It continued to fly throughout the war, gradually being replaced in front line service and relegated to areas where it was less vulnerable.

The model itself is one of Trainer1942's series of Japanese aircraft.

Another Italian aircraft tonight - Gerome73's IMAM Ro.43. Not the most successful fighter of WW2, it was able to intercept aircraft like the Fairey Swordfish but struggled once faster, monoplane designs were introduced. It flew as a spotter aircraft through most of the war and served almost solely in the Med.

Hi WB,

the plane in the screenshot is a Ro.43 search plane, not a Ro.44.

The Ro.44 was a single-seater:

Which one is the one Gerome73 created?

You are, of course, right. I've got the designation wrong but the scripting and model support Gerome_73's Ro.43.

Delete this line from EnglishNames.cfg: LBSRO44=IMAM Ro.44
And insert this line: LBSRO44=IMAM Ro.43

I'll change the files and upload them when I get some time - thanks for pointing this out

Great WB nice to see the Italian units getting the attention they
deserve.

WB is it possible to use these planes in SH4?
I am also using SH4 the British Med Campaign http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...181770&page=20

A lot of these planes were converted from SH4, which implies that some sort of conversion is required.

The best person to ask is probably rowi58 as he converted them to SH3 for his awesome CCoM mod.

An aircraft that needs no introduction:

The model is by VAA and has the H2S radar blister below the rear fuselage so you'll only see her later in the war.
