Default mods not showing up

Hi

Do you need to be in port before mods work?

I am using SHIII v1.4b, Rub v1.45, SHCmndr v2.4 & have added the following mods today but do not see the changes:

the officer icons that replace people with stations
a bearing map mod that shows relative bearing to sub on map
radio log radio messages
tranparent torpedo screen

I took care to read & re-read the readme files for proper file placement, installed & reinstalled the mods in thier proper places but still do not see the changes. I have placed the mods into thier respective folders \Rub 1.45\~ (and MODS\Rub 1.45\~ as well.

other mods I have installed have worked but this latest batch has not. I have a current patrol/campaign in progress & was curious if that had anything to do with it.

thanks

I think those mods should install OK during a patrol. If you are not using JSGME you should consider it, makes install/uninstall of mods a snap. Have you done a roll back using SH3 Commander before installing the mods?

Generally I'd agree that not rolling back will cause this problem, but the files that rcs929 are installing are files not ordinarily touched by SH3Cmdr.

It *seems* like rcs929 is using JSGME, so I assume he's following the "\SilentHunterIII\MODS\<MOD NAME>\data\" folder naming structure and enabling the mods via the JSGME interface?

yes, I am using the JSGME mods enabler though I did not for these files. Instead I was manually copying the new files into thier places in the Rub directories which is enabled by the JSGME & renaming the original files as backups. I will see if any of those files show up in JSME tonight when I get home to enable.

Hmm I had thought they would be enabled though if I replaced the files in the \MODS\RuB\... directories that were enabled by JSGME.

thanks for help.

sorry if I misplaced this post, mods!

What you need to do then is uninstall the mod using JSGME. I believe what has happenned is that you installed the RUB mod into the mod folder, then activated it with JSGME. That copies the files into SH3. You then updated some file by copying them into the RUb directory, however they are not reread and copied into SH3 unless you unactivate and reactivate RUbb w/JSGME. So now deactivate RUB, install the new mods into RUB, reactivate RUb. Hope this makes sense and is also correct.
