Similarities in hunting ships and jobs
![]() 1. You need good intelligence on both, otherwise you don't even get a chance to launch your torpedoes 2. Hunting alone is more difficult than in a wolfpack 3. It's easier to sink those pesky 2000 GRT merchants than that one juicy 12000 GRT tanker in the middle of the convoy 3. Succeeding in year 1944 / at age 60 is more difficult than in 1939 / at age 25 4. One must not get demoralized by duds / failed interviews 5. Technological advancement (be it robotics and automation or hedgehogs and airplanes) makes succeeding harder by the year 6. Finally, sinking a ship usually leads to horrendous depth charge bombardment by the enemy - just as getting that job usually leads to horrendous levels of stress ![]()
