I have similar spec to yours, and had the same problem with Kiel, Wilhelmshaven, etc... MY OLD CTD MOD SOUP
My educated guess is that it might had something to do with sea state changing from "calmer, harbor" to "normal, open sea". Like you, I had the crash at the exactly same radius from the port every single time, be that entering or exiting. Try moving the environment mod at the end of the list, that did the trick for me. |

if you made any mod changes then your saved games are now corrupted and wont work or if they do you will get random CTD issues.

What Webster said. I had the ol CTD problem going from Happy Times to Western Approaches. No fix so a new start after reloading mods.
One thing you can do. When you have a fresh install of SH5, make a copy or two of it in the Ubisoft folder. Leave the names Copy SH5 and Copy 2 SH5 as they show. No harm will come to them.... you can even patch them to 1.2 if you want. Then when you need a fresh install you rename one to Silent Hunter 5 and go on from there. Rename the one you just used or uninstall it. Saves time on a new install. Shortcut will also still work....at least mine does. ![]()

Playing with sobers mega mod list for over 3 months and over 150 saves on my current campaign . My computer is no where near as good as yours . So load my mod list with the MEP file and if you still get a ctd then it is an installation , start campaign , mod corrupt error .

Sober, do you still recommend using your Campaign Start Instructions if Using OHII? Load OHII as the first mod, start a new campaign and do the tutorial mission. Then load your other mods.
Also, what is the outcome of not using CSP Magui the mod soup? I see Warfox and you don't have it your mod lists. Only asking as I've seen nothing in my SH5 that resembles what Doc Jones describes. Warfox, it's best to only add mods when in port or before you start a new campaign. Only those mods that the author says are ok to load anytime shouldn't make any difference when loaded. But sometimes that doesn't work too well either. ![]()

Going below deck has solved about all my crashes when entering a port, may want to try that route. Personally I think OHII may be a culprit.

![]() Just click on the flashing anchor icon in the upper right corner of yer screen. You won't have to go all the way in to port... and crash. ![]()
