So Does anybody know how to change ship contacts to Unknown ?

Yep.. somebody knows..

Try to edit your menu.txt as Gap mentioned..
Entries 821, 822.. maybe also 827, 828.. maybe also 8051, 8052.. then see what happens in the game..

So, then, i wonder what the unkowns would be depicted as? IIRC aircraft are depicted as merchies untill corectly ID'd (if I've got the right SH in mind?)
