Those movies used to be broadcast on the UHF channels all the time when I was a kid. They had a certain Plan 9 appeal; so bad that they were good.

My favorite Godzilla antagonist:

Can't wait to buy it on DVD. I think I've seen every giant monster movie that's been made.

In the trailer where the robot is carrying the container ship as a bat that looks pretty awesome.

Exxon Valdez to the face that would rain on any giant monsters parade.

The Japaneses actress looks pretty good so I third that opinion.

By the way anyone who likes the Godzilla flicks check out "The Godzilla Collection" it has most of the Godzilla flicks from the old series. Not a bad price either I picked it up for $20.00 a while back on Amazon.
Sadly it is not possible to get every orginal Godzilla film on DVD or Blu-ray it seems that there are some legal issues as to who owns the right to distribute some of the films.

Looks like it's going to ROCK!
Who cares about the plot?

Did I see a brief scene with Ron Perlman?

I just don't have any confidence that Hollywood would not mess this up and turn it into a "transformers" type CGI crap fest.

Ah you did see the trailer I hope.It clearly has a lot of CGI in it and that is par for the course in modern film.CGI in and of itself is not a bad thing it can be very convincing looking.I do agree that the Transformers films a crap fest but that does not mean that every film that has some CGI in it and even heavily relies on it is going to be bad.

Yes, I watched that and the other stuff on Youtube.

CGI, like other special effects, can help make a movie more enjoyably. But when the emphasis, effort, and money is concentrated on CGI and not on writing, plot and character development, that's the problem.

I often think that Hollywood makes movies backward

Someone comes in with a wonderful CGI effect that they have programmed and Hollywood quickly writes up something around the special effects.

But clearly I am wrong, because these CGI focused movies bring in the $$$ and in the end, that's all that matters.

One of these days, I think Hollywood will just dump the pretext of plot and start producing short subjects with CGI effects. String a couple together and you have your obligatory 2 hour film. The audiences will eat it up.

Just an FYI 'Crackle' has been making a truck load of Godzilla movies available online for free. Last night I watched Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah duke it out in Giant Monsters All Out Attack. All I need now to make this Saturday morning complete would be to find an episode of Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot and all would be well in the world.

Exactly Tak. Back in the day were rabbit ears had aluminum foil wrapped on them or there might have been a antenna strapped to your roof. Black and white 13 inch TV is what I had. And to think today it is HD on a 60 inch.
