I know. That's why I intentionally spelled it the way I did...as a joke.

But you only insulted a fictional character. The former Jugoslavians are real people.

Or so I'm told. Haven't seen much evidence.

Now there's a barrel of laughs early in the morning

The Yugoslav people are a myth though. You got Serbs, Bosnians, Croats, Slovenes...
There was never a Yugoslav nation, only Yugoslav nations

You cultural imperialists deserve that.

I mean, I'm sick and tired of you spelling the name of my country constantly wrong too. The proper spelling is S-U-O-M-I not F-I-N-L-A-N-D. How you manage to confuse all the time those two words that don't look the same at all is really beyond me.

This is serious business, OK.

Oh, I disagree! Maybe there are none in the Balkans , but I grew up with "Jugos". Given, some were born here, but when being at their parents, most called themselves Yugoslavs. To me, exotic places like Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia have not been been much different as when a German says he's from Bavaria or Hamburg: more describing a region than an ethnicity.
If I recall correctly, the highest percentage of people who said they are Yugos was in Bosnia, with about 20% of the population.

Given, today, only a few Balkanese-Germans call themselves Jugos, occasionally you'll still find one (mostly the older)

Oh, what shall I say, us Deutsche are called Germans, Allemans, Saxons, many other names, mostly after ancient tribes.

But I try to spell your country right:

Ö-S-T-R-A S-V-E-R-I-G-E

So when they get their independence, do we start calling Scotland Pictland? Or are there none of them left?

Not at all the same thing. The English language does have a word for you that is only slightly misspelled. It's written D-U-T-C-H.

FRY? Let's not forget Kosovo, and another one called Novisad? I'll check . . .

Ah, Novi Sad is the capital of the autonomous province of Vojvodina (thank you Wikipedia!). Strange, I knew the capital but not the region.

So where do we lump the Albanians and the Macedonians?

Finland? Suomi? I'll call it Finland, and you can Sue Me.
