here was the US helping people and mostly muslims at that so it seems to me that the Indonesian government did not want its citizens to think of the US and think of being aided so they kicked us out. |

God forbid we actually be seen as using our power in a humanitarian sense.
Kinda makes you wish for another mega quake. Signed- the great Satan Note the capital letter on Satan, our evilness is patented, copyrighted and trademarked. (I am sure China will steal it now)

It's not the only time we've used our warships for peaceful purposes either. Last time we toured the USS Salem there was a whole museum display about the ships relief work in Greece after the 1953 earthquake. As far as I know no third world countries had their ass kicked that time either.

Maybe Obama can harness the energy off that perfect algae growing reflecting pool revamped for $34 million tax dollars.

I doubt that it is the same kind but some folks are crazy about some type of green algae supposedly has all you need in it.
Anyway bio diesel is actually becoming popular with farmers and truckers mainly I guess because it is made in the US and doe snot have to be imported. Everyone hears about people that drive around older Mercedes cars and VW that have diesels well alot of guys that drive full size trucks like F-250s or Dodges with Cummings engines.I have a 1992 F-250 I just buy mine form a guy that processes it it is too much trouble do yourself really though you could make a business of it.Of course the engine does need a little conversion. Only thing is you have to increase the diesel ratio when the weather gets below 60 or buy an anti gelling agent. If you are ever driving down the road and suddenly feel hungry chances are you are smelling the exhaust of a bio diesel. Actually getting into the bio diesel business is not a bad idea you could make a living just taking it away from restaurants and selling it to people that make bio. The owner added it to the diesel fuel to cut costs. It ran nice until he had to take the engine apart and clean it |

Yeah clogged the injectors I bet.If you do it that way you better change your fuel filters very often every 2k~3k miles. You have to know what they use to fry with some places use lard which is a no go sooner or later. In the US guys like to go to Asian joints as they tend to use peanut oil so do most fast food joints.I'm betting in Slovenia they might be more likely to use lard peanut oil might be expensive there.
Some guys vacuum the vats at a restaurant or bakery what ever into a large tank mounted on trailer then they go home and pump it into tanks and run it through a filtering process.I'd rather let someone else do that part full time and use a little more chemistry as well save me the trouble that way they have made sure that the oil is kosher so to speak and they can add in anti gelling agents as well.To do it properly is a full time job if you get enough customers its well worth it 1 55 gallon drum could last two or three weeks for a truck more for a small car so people buy in bulk.Or you could also have a pump and sell it that way. I read on a truck forum a guy said that he drove from Virginia to California in a pickup and he has a little set up on his truck to process he claimed to have used 165 gallons(one way) on the trip that is roughly 18 MPG not bad on normal diesel you get around 12~14 in a large pickup.A small car if it normally gets 40 MPG it must go to 48 or 50 MPG take that hybrid car. Oil companies hate people like me. The industrial bio is mostly made from soy beans though. Last edited by Stealhead; 10-01-12 at 03:27 PM. |

I read that too, and was one of my initial thoughts. My buddy has a pool, and got something in it, that makes the algae not go away. I forgot the name. I'll ask him at work later tonite, and how it happens. I wish I knew more now. He had to spring for a new liner, and drain it to fix it. Every 2 years they have to drain it and refill it (reflecting pool), It is huge I been there, what a waste to us taxpayers, for something most the country will never see in their lifetimes. I wonder what a filtration system would cost compared to every 2 years buttering some government friends bread to clean the pool?

A lot most likely they should ask around I'm sure that someone could come up with a cost effective way to keep it algae free.

Biodiesel is nice in theory. By-products and newer pump designs are two BIG problems. What do you do with 1000 gallons of glycerine? LOL Seriously I'm asking.
![]() The older Mercedes 300's worked pretty well on it with a good supply of inline fuel filters.

Actually with proper additives it is no difference your going to need those cleaned or replaced sooner or later anyway.Your thinking of very Jerry rigged methods if done properly there is no difference.
The newer pumps people simply replace themselves so no big issue there. Furthermore those pumps where desgined in the late 90's early 2000's when bio was much less common now that is different so manufactures will adapt to the need. Most real bio users like bio to stick it to OPEC. You can make soap with 1,000 pounds of glycerin so it is a highly useful by product . Trust me on this farmers are not interested in doing things that cost them money so when many of them run all their gear on some type of bio that should be a huge clue. Some of those "converted" Benzs and such are crappy Jerry rigs done by misguided hippies.that in line filter thing is pure jerry rig and really that is not the proper term because Jerry rig is a clever rigging that actually works well which the system you mention does not though there are others that work very well.Do a little research next time. Hell Diesel himself designed the engine to run on peanut oil and Henry Ford wanted to use Peanut oil for all engines. http://www.goadvice.com/GreenDCoop/DieselHistory.htm The truth shall set you free.
