Default Parameters to completing a patrol

I'm getting an incomplete even though I have fulfilled the "tonnage" sunk. Is it also time based as SH4 was/is? If so is there somewhere I can see the parameters?

Using Sobers mod list (Open Horizons).

Hi Trev,

Yes, the white bar has filled and the iron cross icon has changed but I still show incomplete.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get a screen shot. Print screen doesn't work, I've tried a few different software programs and still no luck. When I do a print screen it shows my desktop just as if SH5 wasn't running.

As soon as I can figure out how to get a screen shot I will post.

Hi Segwin, have you tried pressing the CTRL F11 keys?

Yes I have but that doesn't seem to do anything (I can't find any screen shots in any of the 3 SH5 directories).

It's like the game is a phantom screen and isn't seen by the print screen software. Very odd.

Win7 btw.

I have a little freeware program for screen captures. Easy to use. I'll send you a PM.

Ok Trev, here are two screen shots.

The Map:

Captains Log:

As you can see the iron cross icon has changed showing complete, the white bar is filled but I still am getting an incomplete.

That's why I was asking if there is X amount of time you have to stay somewhere.

Thanks!

When the deadline passes it will be complete . Go back to base and click on the flotilla commander and enter the mission map again . See if there are any new missions or just go on patrol without clicking on any mission on the mission map .

Ok - this picture shows that your campaign objective is passed and you are awarded the campaign crosses. It has been added to the top line to show your Coastal Waters progress.

As you pass other campaign objectives, you will get more crosses.
Everything is looking good here

This second picture shows a mission objective (an objective within an objective if you like - see here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=927 )

These "side" missions/objectives are given once per patrol and have no effect within your campaign other then to give you renown points (spend these points on new equipment).
They are things like patron an area (look out for the small orange icon on the map). Unless stated - assume these areas are 80km in radius.
If you do not pass them - no worries as you will get a new one when you start your next patrol.

Be more aggresive

Default Thanks for explaining all this! Follow up question?

On campaigns like Eastern British Coastal Waters, is there any geographic limit to where you hunt?

Specifically, I'm talking about with Open Horizons II installed. In the vanilla game that I started I saw a grey circle for that campaign but the grey circle is gone now and these little mini missions have appeared.

For what it's worth, my current mod loadout is

Hi IronOak

With OHII v2.5 the patrol area gray circle has been removed. Now you will get grid coordinates in your captain log. It will also tell you how long you must patrol for.

For this to work you must also install the v2.5 patch by Sober. You can find it in the OHII download section.

It would be really useful to know how to post a screen shot to subsim.

I am sure like me a number of others have no idea either.

Dowly has a thread on this: Here

In that first post is a " How to Video ".

Maybe this is another tutorial you could add to your already
excellent list
