No, sadly not possible.

The day our modders crack that nut, will be epic.

I may be wrong but in this mod http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147445
it stated that it has playable mines , as very slow running (0,5 kts) torpedoes.

I haven't tried yet because I am in the middle of a patrol but I am willing to give it a shot.

Gentlemen, I found "only" the VIID 1945 Mod -

but I really love standard VIID with older turm. Has anyone seen such mod from Tomi_099 with this wonderful VIID Boat with older turm (as in screens in first post here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...28&postcount=1 and on the screens from Tomi_099 above)????

Few years ago I had mod for laying mines...
I think I still have it, somewhere on my pc. It's contact mines from tubes, and procedure was like firing torpedoes, except torpedo you "fire" mines and they stay afloat!

If anybody solve problem with laying mines, I think that other "problem" will be results of that action.

It means that we will be unable to see result of our mine field. It is historical correct, but we all wish to know if we sunk any ships.

Also, problem is in SH3 stock. We can lay mines, and if we be etc. 100 km away from field and some ship sunk on our mines, we will not get any information in the game.

I don't think there is 100% credits or reporting on ships sunk by mines dureing WWII anyway.

As long as you complete your mission to lay them what does it really matter?

Call it 'The Fog of War' and play.

I am pretty sure there is 100% credits on ship sunk or damaged by u-boat mines during WW2...

I agree, it doesn't really matter, but it will be nice to know results of your mission.

Like this very successful patrol of mine-laying boat U-118...
http://uboat.net/boats/patrols/patrol_3781.html

All ships hit mines during time of 3th patrol.
In SH3 we will not get information if we are miles away...

So hang around and get the credit if that's your cup of tea.
Over 1 million mines were laid off the Atlantic coast to prevent a landing by the allies.
Your telling me that all ships sunk by mines were credited to the layers of those mines?

You'll have to prove that to me.

My friend,
I said, according to web page uboat.net there is almost 100% credits for German U-boat mine-laying operations.

I don't say for all mines off the Atlantic coast... Of course its impossible to credit all ships sunk by mines, but it's pretty easy for German u-boat.

There wasn't so much u-boat mine-laying mission during WW2...

It is not my cup of tea, I just said it would be nice to know in SH3 Commander or SH3 patrol report, result of you minefield...

OK. I see your point.
Still it would be fun just to lay the mines.
