I voted WW2 Uboats, but it has to be said that I like pretty much all areas and time periods.

I would like to have a go at a WW1 subsim. Anyone know of any?

Cheers

Gary

I think they've all been decommissioned.

I believe there is a 1/1 scale of the U-1 at a German Maritime museum.

It's not a scale model it's the Original SM U-1.

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=112477

From our own past pages my favorite period has been on display

Were you aware that the same number of American submairnes lost in WWII were present in Tokyo Bay on the day of surrender?

I thought that was true, but these were the only ones listed

Submarines (SS)

USS Archer-Fish (SS-311) USS Pilotfish (SS-386)
USS Cavalla (SS-244) USS Razorback (SS-394)
USS Gato (SS-212) USS Runner (SS-476)
USS Haddo (SS-255) USS Sea Cat (SS-399)
USS Hake (SS-256) USS Segundo (SS-398)
USS Muskallunge (SS-262) USS Tigrone (SS-419)

These were the ones that were lost:

Forty-eight submarines of the United States Navy were lost in action during World War II. Two -- Dorado (SS-248) and Seawolf (SS-197) -- were lost to friendly fire, at least two more --Tulibee and Tang-- to defective torpedoes, and four to accident or grounding.[1] Some 16,000 submariners served during the war, of whom 375 officers and 3131 enlisted men were killed,[2] the lowest casualty rate of any combatant submarine service involved in the war.
