To get a picture id in Texas costs only about 5 bucks. I'm sure that Billionare Soros could pony up the $50 bucks necessary to get everyone in Texas without any form of ID registered and voting Dem in no time.

As an election officer, I am in favour of requiring ID.

The only stipulation is that the change to the rule to showing ID needs to be made far ahead of the election to make sure that everyone has several chances to get a State ID if they need one. Also the State needs to make it easy and affordable for someone to get an ID.

If we are going to adopt the position that it is wrong to require ID to vote, then why do we have voter registration?

The reason to have voter registration is to ensure that the poll books are populated with only the people allowed to vote in a specific precinct. That's what people are not understanding.

It is not enough that a person has the right to vote (most citizens have this right) but to ensure that the person is only voting in the correct precinct. For Federal elections it probably does not make much difference.

But for State and County elections, it sure does.

So if the decision is that it is not just to ask for ID when voting, then I think we need to get rid of voter registration... which is a stupid idea.

I do not think it is asking too much for a citizen in the 21st century to have a government issued ID.

As for conspiracy theories, well they're just another way of looking at reality. They are often exaggurations of the truth exaggerated to unbelievable porportions. They're not all wrong. Believing in alternative explanations DOES NOT make you an idiot, as long as it's within reason. Conspiracy theories are contentious, which is why there was a dispute in the talk page on their laundry list of them. I despise Wikipedia and its lists of stuff. I think it's draconian, stupid, and gives people something to complain about. Conspiracy theories. Not all of them are completely false, but you have to be skeptical of info on the internet. Even from Wikipedia. Wikipedia is well known for not being accurate among internet users. Wikipedia is not always accurate and never check. Info from the net is never always accurate from Daily Kos, Huffington Post, any of them. Blogs are useless and unrealiable like Glenn Beck's The Blaze or Daily Kos the liberal/conservative blogs aren't that great. I love conservatives because they are the most independent free-thinkers out there and they are tough in standing up for their nation and people and they fight against what people think of them and they are generally freer, unless you're not one of them. The political system generally sucks, liberal/conservative. Ron Paul is the best. I am heavily conservative and partly libertarian, somewhat liberal.

You call whatever label you want to. I do not care at all. Besides, you should look up that the Jumah prayer has been cancelled amid protests. It is no longer there. No the Islamic/Muslim threat IS NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY. I wish that people would quit presenting people criticizing these clowns who wish to turn our nation into an Islamic theocracy as "kooky conspiracy theorists that believe in lies and conspiracy theories" like the SPLC which shuts down anyone that dares disagree with them or criticize these people because the race of these people somehow makes their religion above criticism and put you on a list of dangerous people if you dare to say anything about the Muslims and the documented proof from statements made by the religious people that want to do these things.
