I think the EU operetta will play no role in the match Germany-Greece.
German matrch today was won, but the Germans played well the first 35 minutes only. But ignored too many chances for scoring. You cannot become champion when folding so many chances - especially the Bavarian players have learned that the hard way this season. Also, a football match lasts longer than just 35 minutes. If they do not improve, in any match versus the Spaniards I would still bet on Spain. Too often the Germans make it to the opposing goal - and there they die in glorious beauty. Playing beautiful does not mean much. You need to score. Even if you have such a fantastic reserve like the German team (probably the most powerful reserve bank in the tournament), and even when the first line shows so many players who individually show much class indeed. Still - you need to score, and you need to dominate for longer than just 35 minutes. When Portugal scored their second and the Germans still were locked with a tie by 1:1, for 10 mor 15 minutes the danger was very real that the German team would get kicked out of the tournament by a second Danish goal! I remember at least one Danish close shot that could have kicked Germany out in that phase. The Danes played very well, and managed to set up a very good positional play. Compliments to them, it was impressive to see. But still - a team wanting to become European champion must be able to crack up such a defence. In second half, the German team played too tame and too lame and too shy and too concerned, by that slowing itself down in the last 25 minutes. The team's potential is certain, the individual players' quality is there, too. But the tiger is still not set off the chain. Set him free, guys!
