well, writing 2-1 was my patriotic duty.
Taking into consideration the aggressive Russian game style, I doubt we can even hope for a draw.
I was impressed by the 4-1 score, but I think it's the Czechs' poor condition rather than a Russian mastery.
The Polish team is now regarded as the weakest but we definitely were the prevailing side during the first half against Greece. But obviously it's not the performance etc which counts but the final score.
There is a saying, that one plays as good as his opponent lets him.

looking forward to the Poland-Russia game.

In other news, my team died today after 140 years. Rangers Football Club. 1872-2012. RIP.

I'm sure they will return as some new-co. It won't be the same, though. I also hope that all the people who oversaw this massive travesty get what's coming to them. David Murray, Craig Whyte and the rest of you, I hope you all go to jail for fraud.

Yes as a Leeds fan I have also followed Rangers for many years making the trip to Ibrox on a few occasions. very sad indeed.

Cheers, mate. It's a heartbreaker. But it's mismanagement on a scale that very few clubs have ever experienced.

Time to by an Inverness Cally shirt, I think. Or maybe a Ross County one since my brother works for their owner.

Did anyone else not see this coming? No? Just the Polish government then?

I think they did. why they allowed the march to go ahead is a mystery to me. The Russian fans have been involved in several unsavory incidents already.

Shame, not football, and sports walk with the ball. Poland does not win this stupidity. Now the fans a show.

Political demonstrations in a foreign country's capital are asking for trouble, especially if you parade with forbidden symbols.

coming back to football: a well-deserved draw.

Let's talk football please.
Tomorrow, The Netherlands vs. Deutschland
A rose is a rose is a rose.

Btw, why do Dutch kids have jug ears?

That is because their parents hold them up so that they can look over the dyke to see where the the World champion is living (1974).

"Netherlands : Germany 1:2"

If the Dutch team does not score three goals, they will lose, I say,

Bring it on, please.

Hopefully the match between Holland and Germany will be great match and not like the one between England and France.

My prediction for todays two matches

Denmark-Portugal 0-2
(Denmark didn't show much last time. It was a lucky goal they got against Holland)
Holland-Germany 2-3
(My two favorite team in the tournament, so I hope the best team win. Germany showed more last game than Holland did)

That was the 5-cent football analysis

Markus

Poland were the best team on the night and unlucky not to win in the end.

It is possible both Portugal and the Netherlands will exit the competition tomorrow.

By how the German team qualified for the tournament, and how they dissected the Dutch last year, and how the Dutch are under pressure already, I would say: fabulous victory for Germany.

By how the German final preparation for the tournament went in past weeks, and how they played against Portugal, I would say: a draw, maybe even a narrow defeat.

In other words: I have no idea about today's match' outcome.

Some of the German players were not fit against Portugal, especially Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Podolski. But Löw will sort that out the more time he stays in the tournament. The Germans will increase in fitness if they stay in the tournament.
