Naah, they're on the turn.. I'm supposed to be getting tickets for the Spain v Japan game in the Olympics. Might be fun. They've only sold about 4 so far.

LOL I'd have thought that had the makings of an interesting game too

Lucky win for Germany after a boring match. If they really want to go for the title, they have to improve, and very much so.

The chance that led to the German goal was not made from the flow of the match, but emerged luckily and somewhat accidentally. But I admit the way Gomez hammered that ball into the net with his head was sensational.

The rest of the match was not good, with Madame Fortuna being all too gentle on the Germans. The Portos could have won by two or three goals as well.

---

Holland lost. That means their match against the Germans will be additonally spiced up beyond the inevitable usual rivalry. Gladfully both teams' fans are not known to be of the ugly kind, else it would be a nasty event.

I definitely agree about the boring game there Skybird, that has to be the worst I've seen the German team play in years. I was worried for Neuer at one point though, such a horrific tackle, I'm surprised he kept the leg. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficu... Oh wait he's fine
Portugal showed us their usual start to a tournament and showed what individual skill they have, now if only they could pair that up with teamwork and a defence that communicated better.
The only thing that annoyed me about the Denmark v Netherlands game is that all my friends, who said yesterday that they would destroy Denmark haven't been available for me to wind them up It was a well deserved victory for the Danes, I just love their playing style when they get into a full attack. They don't have the most technically gifted squad but damn they try

As for England on Monday, I'm thinking 0-0 or 1-1, can't see us taking anything more than a draw at the moment. Once we start getting some passes together and getting the team working we should pick up. After the two friendlies, though solid defensively we seemed a bit weak in midfield and up front. We need to get out of the "1, 2, hoof it up to the striker" style of play, or else we're going to get destroyed this tournament.

Anywho that's just my two cents. I'd completely forgot how to use a laptop I've been away so long

Fantastic play by Russia so far, Denmark played very well and Portugal "Ohlala".
Germany, I don*t know, I don't have a good feeling this time. So I went to town today and bought the very retro German green away jersey which is the away colour again like in the past; a little bit of vodoo. Hope it helps.
Could be a keeper, or the "loser" shirt.

As usually, I have bet on England to win the cup. Let's see how this turns out.

BAH

*weeps into his beer*

I'm still upset about losing to the All Blacks yesterday. This is just the cherry on top.

My heart says England for the win but reality dictates I'd settle for a draw.

Not bothered about the fact Rooney isn't playing because he was goalless in the last world cup.

Sweden to win 1-0

I'm gonna use your prediction in my betting.

France-England 2-1
Ukraine-Sweden 1-2

The result of your prediction turned out to be the opposite of what you predict.

Markus

So that's the result I'm going to bet on

Good luck with that, as the way my luck is going at the moment when I return back to work in a couple of weeks time I will be begging them for overtime as I will be bloody skint
