From the bow, looking back, I could see these things all over the place. Now had I intentionally tried that, I probably couldn't have done it in a thousand attempts.

Needless to say, I left by a different route.

Own experience;

Take a trip at PD between Dover & Calais during late -44. They are many of those ugly things moored perfectly to catch a sub but leave the DD:s safe.
I go slow and keep 1-2 m above bottom surface in order to pass under them. / Per
