...Is there a solution to reload the rear torpedo-turrets? 'Cause when I go to refuel and re-supply in a friendly harbour, they stay empty...
:-/

I believe its because they are external tubes. a quick refit doesn't mean you will be in port long enough for the dockyard men to reload them.

...or maybe you need to drag them to tubes/storage yourself?

When I go to refit, only the empty spare torps storages are loaded.
Then I drag one torp into an empty tube, this triggers all the empty tubes to be loaded.
Select refit once again and the now empty storages will be filled up.

Thanks, I will try, but...
Will it work even if the Surcouf doesn't have rear torpedo reserve? :-/

So, as I thought, and probably because the Surcouf doesn't have rear torpedo storage, it's impossible to reload your rear torpedo-turrets ; it means that once you have fired those six torpedoes, you lose 60 % of your fire-power (ok, I'm not including the main gun-turret ) until the end of the patrol...

That's a problem.

Maybe Keltos is dead? I heard there was political troubles in Belgium. It seems that the two main communities started a war for the paternity of French fries.

I know this is an old thread, but...someone needs to make this in any SH game. (Please, oh please, let it be converted to SH III for me.... :P )

It's a strange (and I think rather amazing) submarine with an interesting history.

Honestly, can you imagine the shock on the face of an enemy destroyer when those guns open fire?

No,she was sunk by an American aircraft carrier.
The merchant ship was only in the report.

the records of the 6th Heavy Bomber Group operating out of Panama show them sinking a large submarine the morning of 19 February. Since no German submarine was lost in the area on that date, it could only have been Surcouf. He suggested that the collision had damaged Surcouf's radio and the stricken boat limped towards Panama hoping for the best.

I have more on this, jsut gotta dig it out again..

(08/26/06): "The sinking of the Surcouf - It seems highly likely that Surcouf was sunk by U-502 (Ed. Note: Our Oranjestad Harbor "friend") under Kapitan Jurgen Rosenstiel. So far, it has been possible to identify only six of the seven ships reported as sunk by U-502 and the unidentified target matches Surcouf - although at the time of the attack it (unidentified vessel) was identified as a tanker. This action happened on February 14, 1942, in Square EC9436. This (location) is about thirty-two (nautical) miles southwest of Aruba and five (nautical) miles north of the lighthouse on Peninsula de Paraguana, Venezuela...Surely it would be a simple matter of going to this position and diving to see what is down on the seabed. It is quite likely that Kptit. von Rosenstiel's tanker of 2500 tons turned out to be the missing submarine
