Yes, as Wernher said it will allow you to spread your torps, but the dial must be set for each torpedo just before you fire it. In other words, if you set the dial to 2 degrees left, they will all go to the same spot 2 deg. left. You have to change the dial for each torp; 1 right, 0, 1 left, 2 left, etc. At least that is the way it works in RFB.
