Every once in a blue, I will switch off to a soul capture dagger in the offhand to fill up Azura, but I am mostly sword and board.

I feel naked without a shield, it has saved me more times than hindered me.

Even as a mage, I cast with one hand and hold a shield with the other.

I feel like too much defense is given up dual wielding, just my opinion of course. Alot have had success with it, I am just not one of them.

I'm doing pretty good dual wielding now, even upped the difficulty to master yesterday.

Just need to take it easier and not rush right in as I would if I'd have a shield.
Using steel katanas (Weapons of the Third Era or JaySuS Swords mod) with ice
enchantment on one and fire on the other, works nicely.

The dual power attack tends to stagger most enemies, so a good tactic is to just spam that.

Yes, you are very much right, same with hacking too.

Bethesda: Skyrim DLC Will Feel More Like Expansion Packs

"For Fallout 3 we did five DLCs," Howard told me during an interview last week
at the DICE Summit. "That was a very aggressive path for us. Our plan now is
to take more time, to have more meat on them [for Skyrim]. They'll feel closer
to an expansion pack."
Excellent

Pretty sure I posted it, maybe someone else.

I just want the ability to import Items from the GECK to the CK.

Laser, plasma and sniper rifles in Skyrim would make me LOL.

I have not done any extensive testing but it seems like I can't get *any* texture mods to work since adding the Hi Res pack. I've even downloaded some that seem to post-date the pack and have endorsements and positive comments posted within the past few days and they don't "take" either.

These are all mods that are just a Data\textures folder with the appropriate subfolders and files, no .esp or .esm files if that matters. I am still downloading them manually and enabling them with JSGME after making sure the file structure is correct, altho within the subfolders that's kinda hard since there's not really anything to compare them to, it's just files/folders being added and not overwritten.

Mods with meshes and/or meshes + textures seem to work fine.

I will have to turn off the Hi Res packs to be sure but I know that the ones that worked before I got it don't work now, I was really hoping I could get some joy from the newest ones but so far... nothing.

the it.

I was hoping it was just as simple as some files or folders in the mods needing to be renamed. Seems like the game gave precedence to hi res textures modded in before the DCL packs, now it just ignores them for some reason. Which sucks.

May check over on the relevant forums to see if other peeps are actually getting them to work with the DLC and, if so, how. There are too many hi res texture mods out there, I can't believe everyone using them is opting to do without the official hi res packs just to get hi res textures for selected items here and there.

Not sure if this helps:

----

Also, it does seem that there is no way to add new animations with the CK.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Wait am I supposed to be checking that thing that says to Load Loose Files? I never checked it because I didn't know what it did. And since other mods adding stuff to the Data folder are working, I didn't think it made a difference.

Okay watching the little video now and it's starting to make sense. Thanks! Looks like I need to d/l their fix (because why not) and then disable the Hi Res pack .esp files and add the .bsa files to the .ini to be loaded. But then anything in my Data folder will still overwrite which is what it's not doing now. Awesome. I WILL HAVE MY PRETTY PRETTY ARMOR BACK!

Hmm... you shouldn't even have the "load loose files" box in the launcher anymore.

It's possible it's not there any more, it's even possible I checked it at one time and forgot. From what I'm reading it sounds like if you check it once it loads loose files from that point on even if the box gets unticked. But why shouldn't it be there any more just in case I get home and look and it is? Lol.

I use SKSE in order to use SkyUI which requires that the game be launched from the SKSE launcher so my desktop shortcut points to that instead... I only ever open Steam and hit the Play button in there to open the Data window to make sure any new plugins are checked before I start playing.

I believe one of the patches got rid of it.
