Only for the US market. The main Becks brewery is still in Bremen (the company I work for is transporting malt for them).

Yes, we are also outsourcing here - into the 3rd world of brewing
![]() In return we brew Duff here: http://www.duff-bier.de/cms/ Even weird stuff like Duff Grape(fruit): ![]() Oh, and it makes sense to brew beer locally, alone regarding transportation. These industry beers taste always the same anyway, local indegredients don't make so much differences to their taste. Like Schroeder said, the main brewery is still in Bremen, but for example "my" Beck's is made in a brewery in the West (Issum). The only sort of beer that I know which has a distinguable taste and also different alcohol strength in different countries is Guinness, sfsik the strongest Guniness is brewed somewhere in Africa. That being said Beck's is overrated anyway - I don't like the grass smell when you open a bottle: yuck! And to destroy one myth regarding u-boats: Beck's was not the standard beer; though SH3 and the "Boot" movie both featured it. I think this comes from the cases of Beck's they found on U-570. In reality they packed the beer brand on the subs which was available at the port. |
