Are the controls as horrible as they are in any other console-to-pc port made during this generation?

Just started playing this morning so about an hr into the game not as scary as I expected it to be maybe its to early in the game. Story wise its turning out to be a masterpiece
Controls are fine, default keys - WSAD to move round, E use, R reload, shift run etc., You can key bind in the options menu and an option to use a controller. Slight annoying thing for me is the character to the right (or left) of the screen like mass effect.

Oh the DLC comes with the pc version (episodes) Signal and The Writer, I decided to try out one of them before and not only did it tell part of the main story ending from the original game but it overwrites my saved point from the original game So I had to start from an earlier save point which was way back. Pressing esc doesn't cancel when the story is audio in your face explaining what happened at the end of the original story, no I didn't even think to turn down the volume & look away I just kinda blankly stared at the screen thinking OMG Alan Wake has just trolled me good! lol

Just a warning don't try out the DLC till after the main game is completed.

Yes, DLC usually should be played after the main story.

Silly you.

Story is incoherent really, but the game is perfectly serviceable and, more importantly, enjoyable. Even with the recap after the first chapter I was left a bit confused. Not a feeling of wonder fueled by curiosity, just a bit confused.

Reviewer is rather critical, but there's one key thing to take away from it:
Quote:
It is good to see it on PC, it is worth experiencing and with its raft of new graphical options, adjustable FOV and everything, it’s certainly a conversion that’s done the work.

I think if you go into it with an open mind you'll enjoy it. If you go into it with the 2 year old hype in the back of your mind you'll probably be disapointed.

The frights all I can do is laugh while shooting the taken, out of ammo and having to run to the nearest light should cause me to freak out a bit oh and the dark scary houses ive been in. Nothing. I think for me the 3rd person killed it. Alan Wake is no Amnesia dark descent I don't know about anyone else but that game truly scare the hell out of me, took me ages to finish it

Alan Wake is a Max Payne thriller with a cool story played out like a tv series and don't forget to watch the Night Springs!
