what I would like to see is all the members on Subsim coming together and make a Subsim with all the things that you can't code into SH3 lol Also I like SH5s idea of having you be able to walk around and talk to your crew. Other then that and the graphics its a crap game.

I think that Silent Hunter 3 with GWX3 Gold, SH3 Commander, and additional mods to taste, represents the best WWII U Boat sim you are likely to see fot the next few years.
It's possible that a Publisher might make a new sub sim at some point, but I think that's years down the line....if it happens at all. ![]() |

If only they could do as CAoD and SOMEHOW have wolfpacks incorporated as a standard feature.
There was nothing better than to find a convoy-radio it in and watch the other boats begin to gather, attack and even submerge and attack. ![]() As in real life, the escorts going after them did open up opprotunities for you to attack.

I do not forsee a Silent Hunter 6 from Ubisoft anytime soon, if ever. Ubisoft made that message abundantly clear considering how quickly the final official patch came out and how quickly support was dropped.
Quite frankly, if the community wants to see Silent Hunter 6 the way the community wants it, the best course of action would be to organize willing modders into Subsim.com (the game company), obtain enough investment capital to buy the rights from Ubisoft and make the game ourselves. |

Is Ubisoft even developing games for the PC anymore?
Everything I'm seeing is console based and ported to the PC. In fact, I'm currently re-playing DA2 on the PS3 at home, and just finished AC2. Still need to pick up the later Assassin's Creed games, and Mass Effect 3 coming soon!!! ![]()

you only have to look in the game shops to see the writing is on the wall as far as PC gaming goes, wall after wall of console games and just one section for the PC.
its easier for the developers, they know exactly what hardware they are dealing with and can tailor the game to suit.with the PC they have to make it compatible with as many different configurations as possible. |

MSoft with DirectX is the route for previous development, but lately NVidia and others are opening up their drivers, which will make games better as they can bypass DirectX... This is the realm for Private Dev Teams (PDTs if you wish) to make their mark... and it will happen. |
