recent recruit needs directions

im a recent new member, registered,activated and posted as per registration instructions, yet any attempt to download a file is met by a message telling me im either not registered or do not have the priveledges on the download page,.....have i miss read something or am i doing something wrong when trying to download, can somebody point me in the right direction here please.....thanks.
