New to SH5: help!

Ramitaylor, Dogfish has it right. Unless your fluent in German, at least initially until your comfortable with SH5, I would follow his advice and check out what has to be one of the most popular MODs ever for SH5. In variety, flexiblity, and usability it has , in my opinion, no equal so far.

Give it a whirl. If you don't like it you can always uninstall it. I don't think that's going to happen, though, once you tried it!
