Thanks! Glad to BE back! I had my eyes on this latest install of the Silent Hunter series for a long time, but life got in the way (I KNOW how much I love this genre, it's like crack! ) and the bad reviews plus the memories of the fights back with SH3 and how that baby didn't exactly launch right either didn't help.

On the other hand, my memories of how this community turned SH3 into everything it should have been and then some ALSO made me know that, one day, I'd be sucked right back in and enjoying every second of it

That moment has arrived, and I couldn't be happier. Firing up all of the sound files that I spent ages compiling back then (it seems they've survived, at least some of them, in various music mods out there and, by the way, I still have all of that period music, God knows how many GBs of it, in case anybody is interested), brushing off my dusty Kaleun's hat and ready to set out for the open sea again

Life is good.

As you wish. It's all period music, as in "stuff a real Kaleun might have or that might be on the radio". Took me a while to gather it and get it turned into .ogg files and yes, even though copyright issues were unlikely with music about 70 years old, I put a huge arse disclaimer up encouraging anybody who had a copyright on it to let me know so I could kill it immediately. I never got a word from anybody, so I'm assuming it's OK.

Anybody know a good place to upload stuff these days, because I don't have the server space to do so myself.

Look at any post by Jimbuna, and check his sig links. He has literally hundreds of songs just waiting for you.

Also look here:

Look for anything that starts SH3 Oggvorbis. They work in the gramaphone from any version of SH.

Subsim Downloads?
That's certainly an option. And I think that was one of the options back then, 8 years or so ago, which we were talking about. The thing was I didn't want to get this community in trouble if there were some copyright issues, even though I think it unlikely given the age of the songs and the fact that I'd immediately delete any songs mentioned in a challenge. Didn't ever get one, by the way.

If it's OK with SubSim and Uncle Neal, I'd be more than happy to upload them. It's the least I can do to pay something back.

I don't know if I have anything that Jimbuna hasn't already got up there, I'm damn impressed now that I've taken a look at it!, but I'm all about the sharing.
