To your knowledge, our press reports that in Southern Siberia temperatures are below -40 degrees celsius - lowest measured by publication of article was -49 degrees celsius.

Oh... and those numbers for Jyväskylä are for day time. About -26 degrees celsius expected for this night.

siberian cold? that's mild winter weather around here (Montreal). I was snowboarding at -20c 10 days ago and it felt very mild.

Boarding all day at -30c with another -20c windchill, that's Siberian cold. We only come inside to warm up when we can no longer feel our fingers and toes.

Ah canadian winters!, you have to love it.

A high of 52 F. on 30 January in Michigan.

A January thaw is not at all uncommon, but it has to freeze before it can thaw.

Still, not as warm as 2006.

Currently -21 degrees celsius in Jyväskylä (-23 with wind factor). Earlier today it was -20 but -28 with wind factor. In the end it was somewhat chilly day today - not cold though.

Okay, okay, "freezing" don't hit!

2°C here. I think Dowly's gonna win

We had a very, very light amount of tiny snow this morning.

Warm winter here on the mid-atlantic.

We have not gone under freezing too many times this winter.

A great change after getting slammed with nasty nor'easters 3 days apart.

I love shoveling 18 inches of snow from around my truck, then 2 and a half days later have to shovel another 2 feet of it out.

Jersey has been cursed with blizzards past 3 years

Yeah. Fun.
