Ordered 12GB, I do a lot of 3d and VFX stuff, Vue, FumeFx etc. take a lot of resources. For example, I made almost photorealistic comparion of the Belize Blue Hole, but don't have the computing power to render it.
![]() If I can get a rig that can handle 3D stuff, hopefully I can start to push myself to the business. Always wanted to be an 3D artists, it's just my rig that has been holding me back. ![]() RenderCows help bit still, tends to be a standard to have 8 cores these days, but I can try. ![]() Just got GeoControl2 today, which is awesome pair to Vue. I could write my name in GC2 and rednder all the letters as islands in Vue 10. Amazing poop! |

Ah, using it for 3D rendering makes sense, I was under the impression it was just for gaming, which would be a tad extreme.

![]() Tend to go with this what I ordered for another 4-5 years and hope 3D and gaming industry calms down a bit, so I don't have to upgrade that soon. ![]() For example the island scenes in Pirates of Caribbean II were rendered in Vue 7 or 8, so they can already make some fancy stuff. I have Vue 10 and the only difference I can really see is a bit faster render times. ![]() (and the new spline crap, but GC2 is already for that) |
