Default A Bildge Rats tale!

(Sorry very picture heavy, maybe some one can edit the thread name)

So Kapitäns I have gathered a collection of photos, enough to tell my story so here is it.

I have hunted the evasive Flight carrier in the mission Blockade of Germany day and night searching all over but it was no wear to be found but let's begin at the happy time's where there was hundreds of unprotected merchants roaming the water's.

I had sneaked up on a big convoy of merchant's west of France in the darkness.

Sinking them like fishes with dynamite.

Some of them made it to the lifeboats but far from everyone.

And as the light of a new day did rise I made my escape in to the sunset.

But that is the start of it all what I always tried to do was finding that damn Carrier how hard can it be? Very hard it would soon prove. I was patrolling around in the area BDU assigned me searching for the carrier but I soon found my self trapped between 3 groups of destroyers each with 4 destroyers in every group. I had no where to go and because of me fully focused on finding that Flight Carrier a group had spotted me!

And soon I get pounded by gun shells! CRASH DIVE!!!!

This is what's looking for me! The first group soon get's backup now there is 8 Destroyers looking for one sub.

And now there is 12 Destroyers looking for me!!

But now they are almost to many and that's when I do my move on the chessboard. I silently start to back my engines and get 600m away from all 12 engines that destroyers have running and I can get to a safer distance from them. But my mind is set on revenge and glory as I cant find that damn carrier. "OPEN tube 1234, go to peri depth". FIRE...hit

One torpedo scrapes the side of a destroyer but does not detonate.

My fourth torpedo is a new acoustic (right name?) one that can search up the sound of a ship and soon it is at the tale of a destroyer.

2 More hit's. one on the earlier and one on the destroyer getting tracked but the new acoustic torpedo.

braking the back of one and destroying the rear of the other.

After that close encounter I manage to escape but battered after the first shells had hit me before crash diving.

I soon realize that my search for the Flight carrier is over and take the long way back to home over the British Isles and past Scapa Flow. Not really happy after not finishing a mission i slowly make my way home. But suddenly around 100km west of Scapa Flow, Ship insight!

Around 10 Destroyers and 2 Warships turn up just 7000m nort east of my bow. One is a Nelson battleship and the other one is Hood Battlecruiser.

My lust for Glory sets in and I have to take them to the deep. "Open tube 1-2, FIRE....Miss, miss". The first 2 goes to wide of Hood. I put my sight on the Nelson "Open tube 3-4, FIRE....HIT". Perfect hit on the Nelson right in the middle of the ship.

The ship sinks after 5min and in that time a manage to put my stern torpedo in the Hood. One ship passes the other as it sinks.

I try to follow the Hood for a while but I cant catch the Battlecruiser. The ships limps away in one direction as a decide to set course home. My only problem now is my fuel and the weather.

But finally I see the light's from Kiel and with 008 left in fuel I can dock with a total of 38000 tonnage sunk on the patrol, no carrier, one Battleship, 2 destroyers, 76% hull and a very happy crew that survived.
(Das boot theme song, fade out)

Merry Christmas!

The right name for those torpedoes would be electric.

Actually that would be acoustic. It probably is electric as well, but acoustic was the name he was looking for.

About the best photo story I think I've ever seen on SubSim although I must admit I haven't been here long.

My congratulations and Merry Christmas!
