So in this case "why not give an hoinest debate" is answered ...because the "christian" making claims is about as christian as bhuddas big toe and hasn't got a clue but just a vague notion of what he doesn't like, which is why he was unable to back up his views when he was invited.
I mean seriously he could have possibly even made an attempt to make the teachings he is on about fit his arguement, the bible is good like that you can take snippets and piece them together to convey most arguements in a way that will survive a very very brief scrutiny....but he didn't even know enough scripture to do that and the lame attempt about Matthew is laughable given the wealth of passages about tax collecters in the gospels.

That said, it doesn't really matter what arguments have been made before. You are arguably one of the most intelligent members on these boards, well-read and well-informed, and when you actually enter a debate your knowledge and references are without peer.

On the other hand you have a nasty habit of dropping all pretence of intellectual authority and stooping as low as possible, sniping at people for no good reason and insulting anyone you please, and always try to justify it with a simple "They deserve it". Maybe they do and maybe they don't, but the rest of us don't deserve to be subjected to this kind of childish game-playing. Please try to get a clue.

And so it should cease to be the norm.....whilst agreeing with Steve and doing my level best to recognise your positions/opinions I am asking that you conduct some restraint because bad post reports are becoming a common factor and as such I would rather a modicum of common sense and understanding could prevail.

You are a worthwhile contributor sir....but this forum deserves a little more consideration toward all contributors.
