Currently the polls show that the new prime minister would be Zoran Jankovic



Current mayor of our capital and left winged. A businesman and entrepenour. He is actually quite competent. Good feel for business. But running a country, especially a republic in nowhere near as simple as running a business company.


The problem is, Slovenia's economy is export and tourism oriented. Until the rest of the world gets out of this mess, Chuck Norris could run this country and we would be in a recession.

Without going into details that would bore the life out of non-Slovenians on this board, Jankovi***263; is as left winged as the pope is for sexual promiscuity. A business man, and thus by definition interested in lining his own pocket (the same goes for all politicians).

These elections, instead of resolving the problems Slovenia has, both socially and economically and with the same old political guard controlling everything (left/right doesn't matter here), will bring nothing but problems. I wouldn't be any happier had the opposition won, the policies of all parties are more or less the same (cutting down on social rights, which to an extent is needed, but in such cuts it's always the poorest of the poor that pay the price, not those better off), so it's more of a general disappointment in Slovenians in general. Do I have to quote Cankar once more? Valets we were and valets we remain. On a bright note, Cankar did write down the one universal truth of democracy: "The nation will judge itself" (will write its own destiny) and has to live by its decisions, in this case, the election results.

Here's to a brighter tomorrow lads! Unfortunately I haven't seen it around in a while.

He's left winged simply because he was running oposite of Jansa. Just as Jansa is right winged because he has a MO of raving against communists. Nothing more, nothing less. Simple political BS.

Oh well, maybe Murphy's law will come in effect and right the opposite will happen than the pesimistic predictions that are saturating the air even between those of us that voted for him. It's a sad part of a democracy when you vote for someone not because you support him, but because you hate the other guy more

The main issue about our new prime idiot is that he is of Serbian descent. Like that has anything to do about it. He was born in Yugoslavia, so was I. I'm really sick of people using the nationality card when they want to be loud. Fer crying out loud, I'm of Czech descent, does that make me non-Slovenian
