sounds like you had mods installed when you uninstalled the game, this leaves files behind and corrupts any installation untill the leftover files are gone.

uninstall the game, delete jsgme, open the main directory and delete the game folder then reinstall the game and jsgme then update

You've got it lesec:

Uninstall the game.
Navigate to the main SH5 folder, usually C/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 5
Delete the whole folder 'Silent Hunter 5' (this will wipe anything left over by the uninstall).

You may also have a folder under 'My Documents'/SH5 with your save games etc inside. You can delete this as well if you like, if you don't want to keep your saves (and remember old saves may not work with new mods, so you probably should wipe this folder too).

Then restart your pc, reinstall SH5 from disc and update as normal.
