Anyone else recognize the narrator in the video in the BBC link? He was one of the narrators to the modern battlefield series or some name like that. I watched that entire series, wish they'd make more of them.

There'll be a series covering archeological digs on World War II sites early next year I believe, of which the Spitfire will be one episode.

I remember when they pulled the 20MM cannon from Glacier Gal it still fired, no restoration required

I thought the ability of bogs around the British Isle to preserve things was widely known. I've read stories about people from the middle ages and earlier being well preserved thanks to them.

Awesome that they managed to restore the gun and get it to fire, would love to be able to ride in the backseat of one of these fighters one day.
