Default MW3 Attracts the 'stupid'

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1211626p1.html

Quote:
A leaked copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been sold on eBay for $1,725.

Unauthorized copies of the game were mistakenly released into the wild this week, when a retailer placed the game on sale. MW3 is not due to be officially released until November 8th.
The worst part is that with shipping, the game probably wont get to his house until the 8th or later.

I know I'm quite eager to play Skyrim, but I wouldn't pay nearly two thousand dollars to get the game 4 days before release.

I'll bet this old gem is still on the mark about what to expect from yet another COD: Modern warfare title.

Why anyone would pay that kinda money for another COD title is beyond me.

That is so true. Only problem with them is they don't spend 100% of their time online -- they somehow seem to find the time to hang around on places like YT, flaming every other FPS game on the market. Makes me want to buy BF3 just to piss them off.

Looks like MW3 also attracts the criminals:

Quote:
Armed robbers steal 6000 copies of Modern Warfare 3

In France, two masked men armed with tear gas and knives stole a truck thought to contain around 6000 copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
French news channel TF1 (translated by Eurogamer) claimed that at 8am Sunday morning, 10km south-east of Paris, a car crashed into a van containing unspecified video game cargo worth €400,000.

The two men driving the van left the vehicle to "make a report" - presumably phone emergency services. It was then they were reportedly sprayed with tear gas by two men whose faces were obscured. The criminals then climbed into the van holding the video game cargo and fled.

A subsequent report by AFP revealed the €400,000 cargo to be copies of Modern Warfare 3. Mathematically, this was said to represent 6000 copies of Modern Warfare 3, or thereabouts.

I've read somewhere it was two 14 year olds, and they were camped waiting for the van for the last wek!

Tongue firmly planted in BF3's cheek!

That sounds so wrong now I've read it back!

I was just remembering how I used to like the COD series over the MOH series... but that was back when both series were firmly implanted in WW2.

Nowadays, i regret buying any Modern warfare title, and am certainly NOT going to buy any more of them. They're all the same.

Same, COD1, UO and COD2 were nice. World at war was kinda good too, didn't
like the pacific bits, but the ETO bits were mostly well made.

COD2 is a favorite for me., never tried the MW series but seeing many MW players are dumping their COD & switching to BF 3 says it all.

I liked Word at war for the theater, (I mean, seriously, anything PTO is cool because their rarely made) but I thought the gameplay was on the cusp of getting a little more hyperactive then i care for. I never much cared for hyperactive in my older age. In particular grenade spam. I think the pace I like is about perfect illustrated in OLDER versions of Day of Defeat mod for HL1 before it was moved to the source engine and speed up a little bit.

EDIT:
One thing i never liked about the COD series in general. It never allows you to take cover for very long. The game FORCES you to move forward, or you get a rain of grenades into your position. And yet, if you move forward, you get shot to pieces. The death screen and that whistling sound in the background, represents 50% of what I see in COD. You can't get tactical at all, its all rush rush rush.. hunker down and the game flush's you out. I hate that.

Guess it's personal preference then. To me, the PTO felt a bit repetitive,
then again, ETO's been done to death in WWII games, so.

Couldn't agree more (scary ain't it? ), HL1's DoD was and still is one of my
favorite WWII online shooters. Dod_Caen + Kar98K =

the singleplayer might as well not even exist) of the annual shooter series, Call of Duty.

I think the most entertaining part of MW3, is probably this trailer, and how ridiculous it is.

While I laughed my ass off, it only reinforced my opinion of the modern warfare series. Which is to say, it is a big heaping pile of excrement.

EDIT:

BTW, i noticed on steam the entire Arma 2 series is on sale for 50% off.

I don't see the fascination with this game series. I mean 65 million people play this mindless garbage. I dont know, maybe I am getting old.
