We do them in-game rather than out on the real streets, violent videogaming doesn't incite, it prevents
![]() Never in real life would I pay for a hooker (see confessions thread for further details!), and then beat her up to get my money back. Nor would I mow down chanting Hare Krishnas in real life (a la original GTA) - they dent the bodywork too easily!

That, and the music/radioshows. Think I spend more time cruising around listening to the radio than doing missions. Just exploring the city like that is fun in itself.

Yeah, that. It was specifically impressive in 4. The city became somehow familiar place that you learned to know by its landmarks, streets and atmosphere. And when the same setting was used in the expansions, it felt like coming home.
But the city alone wasn't all. I also liked that it felt like a living place. People walking around, car crashes, occasional fist fighting, hot dog stands... Some could say it was generic, but to me it created a good enough illusion of a populated city. OK, so I didn't follow a random pedestrian to see if he wakes up in morning, goes to work, visits a grocery store on the way back home and watches TV for the rest of the evening. So what? The world kept me occupied with better stuff to do. Cruising, listening to music, just fooling around with the physics engine (who hasn't rammed a moped with a fire truck at least once?) and admiring the details. Edit: so again. It's not one single thing. It's the combination of multiple things that work well enough. I wish such balance could be found in all the other games too.

To me it's all of the previously stated:
- I am daily confronted with bad drivers in an urban sprawl, so I use GTA as a catharsis. - The details are amazing: when I came to San Francisco after GTA: SA, I was astonished how well the Californians managed to build a city after a video game ![]() - The music: very fitting and diverse; shame on Rockstar for destroying my favorite Station in GTA4 (LCHC) in the add-ons with stupid Death Metal ![]() In addition: maybe the most important thing to me are the social comments and satire. I love how much effort the team spent into creating websites, brands, radio and tv shows, commercials and of course stories that mock the society we live in. Quote:

So it's LA/Los Santos then. I wonder if we will have a flashback mission set in the 40s, it would be sad if the LA Noire world would just disappear.
I wonder if SF and LV will also be made available, maybe as add-on cities. There are also some rural, mountain areas shown and planes seem to return! ![]() I just missed a "coming in December 2011" at the end of the trailer! ![]() |

Given the fact that they showed us country side, and a mountain, wouldn't be surprised if we got SF or LV.

I think the "Vinewood" sign pretty much tells us everything we need to know.

I swore there was a topic about this, but I may be mistaken.
Anyways, for you out of the loop GTA V has been revealed you can find a trailer here: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/de...d-theft/723480 Also any multiplayer gangs you make in Max Payne 3 will carry over to GTA V: http://content.usatoday.com/communit...yne-next-gta/1 And finally, someone who works with Rockstar supposedly leaked this: http://www.strategyinformer.com/news...legedly-leaked Although said details also emerged on another forum where the person was supposedly posting the details for his friend who was fired for misconduct. So take them with a grain in salt. Although, if it's real I really like the sound of this new wanted system. Honestly, as someone who's spent hundreds of hours in GTA since GTA I and II(I got II first), and has pretty much played every game in the series, I can't wait.

Played most of them on PS and PS2, bought the whole collection in the winter Steam sale, so will more than likely get this too. But not for a while.
The best thing about the original was playing the disc in a CD player and listening to the GTA radio tracks. ![]()

![]() I owned GTA III before I owned a ps2. Would go to my friends house after school everyday to play it on his PS2, and then my parents finally got us a PS2. It was pretty much the only thing I played until GTA Vice City, and then that was all I played for a while too. I hear everyone complaining about the formula getting old, but honestly I haven't had a problem with it yet. But then again, I enjoy the occasional rampage in GTA IV.
