Thanks for your quick reply- it has been working fine this evening without those last 4 so it has to be one of them!
Will do so and report back. ![]() |

It's normal to have a black screen with looping audio for some time after the red bar loading screen. This will usually be followed by the "wait while we synchronize your games" screen, which can take a while too.
Depending on the speed of your PC and connection I wouldn't worry unless those parts are taking more than 3-5 minutes or so. Loading the actual saved game takes a loooong time as well. ![]() |

If you use antilag and have the fps at say 32fps the game will take a whole lot longer to load . Put antilag fps to zero and untick the ingame vertical sink box and see how much faster it loads

I have a very high spec machine, and it has never shown any signs of doing this before.
I waited a considerable time and then hit control alt delete task manager which staes SH5 not responding. I disabled the last 4 mods and it still then did the same thing, so I disabled all mods with jsgme, then re installed all in exactly the same order less the last 4 and it worked fine. I am going to try a fresh download of these files and try again. ![]() |

If SH5 loses focus (usually from alt-tabbing or clicking off the window in Windowed Mode) it'll claim to be Not Responding, but will still be loading in the background.
At least for me it's still working and after the normal time will load. Only time that hasn't happened I also got an actual crash report box. So maybe just give it more time? |

Update
I run the game on 2 different machines, a lap top with Win 7 and high spec where the problem above occurred last night after downloading OHII V1.4. I also use a PC with Vista 64 bit and again very high spec. I added the 4 last downloads with the same list on the PC and it ran! Since both were downloaded separately, ie not copied from one machine to another, I assume the lap top download has some problem with a file somewhere. Question- With the PC game at the start point, I see the OHll v1.4 at the top where you see the missions tree, but it only goes to 1944- is that right? I thought this took us to 1945? Thanks |

Right, a further update.
I re downloaded these last 4 mods and re installed them as on my list above, then started a new campaign. The loading time is ridiculous, ie about 7 to 8 minutes, however I got the screen with the new campaign starting in coastal waters and up to 1944. I then clicked on start game and got the pictures loading screen, however at the end of this after loading for about 2 to 3 minutes, it goes straight back to the launcher and stops working. Any more ideas please? ![]() |
