I think there should be a thread discussing the zany, crazy, and potentially deadly antics of SH3's resident screwball Bernard. So here is a thread to do just that. The most merable time for me was when Bernard crashed us into a tiny island of the north western tip of scotland.

There have been several over the years. They always die as people lose interest. Maybe this one will be different.
Just to help out, here are some Bernard-related pictures: One by Hunter ICX: ![]() And two by Torplexed: ![]() ![]()

I didn't get a screengrab of it, but he put us between a lighthouse and land, so that the boat was completely through a seawall of some sort... bow and stern sticking out of a rock wall with a bridge poking out the top!

I am thinking Bernard was on the destroyer that decided to blow himself up with his own depth charges.
Is there an Anglo version of Bernard?

I am pretty sure there are many versions of Bernard out there.
I think the most Bernards look like this... ![]() ![]() ![]()

You can make up all the names you want, but no one has ever come up with an American version of Bernard that stuck. The best ones happen by chance, not by choice.
That said, the closest thing the US Navy will ever have to a Bernard is almost certainly this guy:

![]() ![]() Great, now I have an idea about Bernard's communicating between vessels. During the entire war, they were flushing inanimate objects to each other through time. They might have saved thousands of lives by avoiding use of the Enigma machine, and informing boats of incoming threats... Of course, being Bernard's they didn't realize this, and simply used their chrono-johns to send jokes to each other. |

I think Bernard is related to Herman Fegeline(AKA the master of antics).
