Default AAAAGGGGGHHHHH,I DELETED MY>>>>

I came back from dinner to resume my campaign, It was going great, I couldn't wait, I had them just where they wanted me.....and I hit "New Career" on the load page instead of loading the last save file.
I went back to the folder with the game saves under that career and sure enough it was empty. So I tried to find a recovery date....and my laptop isn't set up for that kind of recovery. My best option that I could find was to find the recovery dates for that particular folder which was back to Sunday. That didn't do very much at all but put me back to the end of my last patrol.
With all the other prompts that the game throws out at you, why didn't they put in just one more "are you sure" prompt.
Lesson learned, do not be hasty with loading game saves.

Meh lucky you. I did this on a career with 12 patrols (started in '42 no less!) not even a week ago.

Heh, it happens.

It's a learning curve, very similar to learning that I MUST SAVE OFTEN during the game least I suddenly and unexpectedly die.

I now routinely save (or try to remember to do so):

1) during every long-distance transit (about every 1000 nm)

2) after reaching my assigned objective or long-distance destination

3) after each sinking (unless in convoy)

4) after each convoy encounter

Being forced to repeat a patrol (or a career ) due solely to my own carelessness and/or stupidity has a way of motivating me to pay more attention to the mechanics of the game itself rather than just concentrating on the tactics of my current patrol.

I think we've all been here at least once, I remember my first career, starting in 1939 i went through 2 years of a several patrol rampage, it was great. Then one day i was looking at all the saves i made in the past and decided that I didn't need all those old saves cluttering up the menu. I deleted the first one and....well, the rest is history.

Yes but it's the way he says it, with such style!

Truth be told, nobody says 'well' quite as well as Jim...
