For me whenever I tried playing Oblivion I feel alone pretty quick.
If the game is about a vast open ended world I'd like to be immersed in it. But the immersion never came because though the world is beautiful it feels lacking soul. The AI was never convincing to portray personality. The bandits never spoke anything. Everything and everybody in the route seemed to be wanting to kill me and the battle in first person feels very awkward (come on body motion is so dynamic I have to see my feet sometimes, or my chest or my thigh, etc) .

I'm a whiner am I LOL

That is a debate that is as old as the game: the battle between those saying it is no role-playing game due to lacking options for indiovoidual interaction, and those saying it is a roleplaying game nevertheless.

Never understood this pedantic messianism of these debators! My advise is: take the game as what it is, and in the way it is. Then nothing hinders you to see all the beauty assembled in it.

I'm visiting it occasionally until today - for over 4 years. And still I occasionally discover somethign new, or get stunned ahgain by some beautioful interaction of light, natural place, mood and weather, making me to stay there and just watching it when it changes slowly with the time of day.
