Champions online (free MMO)

I'm a long time City of Heroes player. I tried Champions and hated it. It felt more like I was playing a console game rather than a computer RPG. City of Heroes has a much better RPG feel that encourages more than just running around beating bad guys up.

Well I never tried City of Heroes but I found Champions to be a really good game for a free game.

DC Universe Online is also going free to play in October.

. That game has much more beautiful graphics and more serious approach to superheroes theme. The download is going to be in the size of 15Gb though

(Compared to Champions Online of only 2.6Gb)

Well I went out and downloaded Champions. It's not bad, really reminds me of STO. Hmmm that should be free to play very soon. Maybe I'll go back to it...

the tutorial story sucks real bad. But Champions online is not its sucky tutorial. It's really an open world game. You get access to many different worlds(first the Millenium city and Canadian wilderness then you get access to the desert and not sure what's next, all while being able to access any previous ones)

Hang on to get past the tutorial. The gem is afterward.

Well I was forced to take a break for a few days because of an issue with the patcher. (Wouldn't connect for some reason, happened on STO too)

Hopefully I can get back into it though even though I'm focused on utilizing the free week of premium I got on WoT.
