Default Newbie question

Guys I really want to take the step into US boat in the Pac. That being said I have and love GW gold for SH III It fills and exceeds all my hopes for the game ! Refuel at sea many ports stable game. Can someone advise me how best I can step into SH IV and get a similiar game to GW gold. Does stock SH IV have many details like port choices damage repair upgrades Do I need to "go heavy on mods" to get the game to GW gold level any direstion will be greatly appreicated I love SH I alot and hope to be able to return to PACific in an american boat Thanks

Since they are all so easy to enable and disable with JGSME, why not try them all? Most of them gives you tons of realism. I myself prefer TMO (Trigger Maru Overhauled) over all other supermods i've tried. Fall of the Rising sunt (FOTRS) is also good, and Run Silend Run Deep (RSRD) is also great. All of them deal with the issue you mentioned (having all historical ports available to reload and refuel), thouhg you can only repair and end mission at your home port. But that is only the tip of the iceberg, SH4 is great with any of those mods (it helps to have 1.5, that meaning 'u-boat missions').

Get the bundle. Tons of mods here but they are designed for 1.5 so without the bundle it gets a bit frustrating (voice of experience - I just got back into it and I didn't have the bundle and was downloading left and right without successful installs). Don't forget to download JSGME for easy mod activation (and deactivation): http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=173324

Default Ver 1.5

Guys can you help? How do I get ver. 1.5? I noticed that I can buy 1.0 and then something called the bundle Is this related? I will be happy to patch to 1.5 if that is what I have to do? I am really not all that interested in German boat in the PAC but if it is part of a patch ( extention game) then I have no problem (does the bundle get me to ver 1.5?) sorry for the confusion I just have not followed the development of SH IV at all I am a big fan of SH III and love what developed there ah la Gray Wolfs I would love to get an American sub up and going soon thanks John Martino

We really know you never are at sea cause you are chasing the women all over the Rio beaches. When you catch one, post a pic.

It's pretty depressing when I'm too old for somebody's grandmother!

It's also pretty depressing when you're not too old for somebody's grandmother.
