The SH3 default commands for F10 and F11 look like this.

[Cmd19]
Name=Deckgun_camera
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F020005
Key0=0x79,,"F10"
Page=0x38000000,3707
GoBack=Conning_deck_camera

[Cmd23]
Name=Cycle_flak_cam
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x7A,,"F11"
MnID=0x3F020006

This useful addition to keystroke commands will instantly enable maximum time compression with a single keystroke by pressing the asterisk (*) key on your numerical keypad. Just add the red line to [Cmd5]

[Cmd5]
Name=Time_compr_increase
Ctxt=1,2,6,9
MnID=0x3F010001
Key0=0x6B,,"Npad +"
Key1=0x6A,R,"Npad *"
Thats a really useful little addition there,is there any chance you could do me one for x128?,as that is the speed I use when crusing,very rarely use anything higher in case of a sudden air attack for exemple.

Thanks.

I'd also be quite interested in this... x128 would make a great shortcut.

theres gotta be something effected by the HI_RES fix, looking thru the .DLL i dont see any extensions that change the button pathway. Even all the CFG files are correct, this is defiently over my head. SO.. i need a real SH3 file expert to figure this one out.

This change only allows you to go instantly to one set MAXIMUM TC. You can set max TC to whatever you want, but if you specify 128X, that's the fastest the game will ever go. Open SilentHunterIII/data/Cfg/main.cfg The 2nd item is Time Compression. Note this is my modified file with several altered (non-stock SH3) values. Change the last line to whatever you want (and your system can support with decent frame rates).

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=512 <= lets time go faster near land default = 32
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=1
RadioReport=128 <= doesn't work; TC still drops to 1X; default = 1
Particles=8
PrayState=128<= time passes faster while waiting; default = 32
HunterState=256 <= time passes faster while waiting; default = 32
3DRender=32
Maximum=4096 <= you need a fast CPU and video card for this or frame rate slows waaaay down

Remember, SH3 creates a folder in My Documents in which to store your games and careers. It places a copy of main.cfg there too, and it uses that copy, not the one in the game folder, so be sure you change the file in BOTH locations.

^^^ Very good...

Might be worth configuring it this way as I seldom exceed 128x. So it's just a question of the trade off of not being able to exceed, weighed against the convenience of one button acceleration. Good food for thought, thanks!

ok so i finally figured out what messed up the f10 and f11 problem as well as correcting the freezing issue when taking screenshots on higher resolution. The hi-resolution fix i had used an installer for the windows batch file using sp2. That service pack 2 installer has an incompatible dll in the batch file for windows vista. So i uninstalled the batch file, it came with an uninstaller. Now i can take screenshots no problem and all keys are working just fine. I actually found the answer on the microsoft direct-x forum.

I have no idea what the native resolution of my 28" monitor is, but 1440 x 900 is the max at which my old eyes can still read the icons. I don't use the hi-res fix, and the stretching is so minimal I don't even notice it anymore.
