Ooh, neato: He Rues The Day: Wargame
RUSE it is not. As far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing. Sounds excellent. I'm guessing it will fall between Men of War and things like Combat Mission and Theatre of War in terms of scale, including abstraction of weapon ranges. I doubt they could have the proper values in such a detailed world of that scale. MoW and ToW can barely pull it off on their scale (highly abstracted and "real", respectively) without bringing a powerfull PC to it's knees. MoW by giving small maps with ridiculous detail/interactive bits, ToW by having relatively large maps while sacrificing visuals. Also, they make mention of hit percentages, so I'm guessing they're opting for random numbers rather than modeling actual ballistics, like Company of Heroes... oh god, don't know if I could deal with magically tracking projectiles again. ![]() Still, intriguing. Wonder how this develops.

CoH ballistics or not, I think I'll be getting this, it'll be nice to have a wargame with realistic distances. Ooooh, just think of the MRLS.

Well, I'm glad they're making it a lot more detailed compared to the silliness of R.U.S.E.'s system. Also their reinforcements system working through points and entering from the edge of the map makes so much more sense than R.U.S.E.'s base building. EDIT: Oh, and Open Beta in September? That's pretty close.

Wargames: EE available to pre-order on Steam, and the trailer looks better than last year's effort. They seem to know naff-all about an ambush though, that NATO convoy being attacked from both sides at once would never happen - unless you wanted to wipe out your troops with good ol' blue on blue. Also ineffective as it was only from the sides and they'd just have driven on
![]() Not being an RTS fan, or owner, it does look good.

I'm not liking how everything fires on the move and/or at point blank range, but that could just be the trailer. There's some implication of unlockable units in multiplayer, which I don't really like either, but it also appears that there won't be base building like R.U.S.E. which, while not being the silliest concept in that game, was pretty stupid, so that's good.
It's not too expensive and not published by Ubi this time, though, which is nice. Hopefully there will be a demo once it comes out.
