I found subsim when playing sh3 and now stepped up to sh5. After some trouble at first when playing sh5 I now think it's a really fine game, at last, but as every version of sh it seems to require some help from you modders out there, thanks!

Hello all, I've first signed up to Subsim in 2007, I was actually a big fan of Silent Hunter Commander edition, I've been playing it for many years since 97, an old friend pf mine , an ex navy seal joined me while playing it for many times, he knew some about submarines from their joint training and joint maneuvers.

I kept an old PC just for playing the game, never tried the whole dos box thing on windows XP.

I joined this forum on 2007 when I found out about the forum while looking for some help with SH4, the previous versions SH II and SH III were a big disappointment for me, nationality wise and simulator wise, unfortunately my hardware wasn't adequate for the game so I had to put it aside.

Lately, after upgrading my hardware and a random visit to a naval museum which had on display a submarine and many WWII items like TDC and so on I felt the need to come back and give it a try.

After doing some serious reading in the forum I decided to include some mods like RSRDC, RFB 2.0, OTC 1.5 and give it a run, I hope in a couple of days I'll have it set and running.

New to the Silent Hunter community with Silent Hunter III , I bought at the local comp store , it was gathering dust and I thought ,"You need an owner"
